I love oatmilk and honey so to put it together in a latte sounded perfect.
What is in an Oatmilk Honey Latte?
Starbucks has an Oatmilk Honey Latte on their menu so I set out to recreate it.
Their latte, per the ingredients list, is made with oatmilk, brewed espresso, honey blend and toasted honey topping.
Here we’ll use similar ingredients. First brewing the espresso (I used a moka pot), meanwhile frothing the oatmilk. Then stirring in raw honey.
We’ll put it all together and top it with brown sugar (the topping I chose to use) and styled like the Starbucks drink with the topping right through the middle.
Here’s how…
Oatmilk Honey Latte Ingredients
- ¼ cup espresso
- 1 cup oatmilk
- ½ tbsp honey
- Pinch of brown sugar (optional)
- Milk frother
Tips for Making Oatmilk Honey Latte
Espresso
I used a stovetop moka pot and brewed Bird Rock Blend coffee from Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. They are based in California.
Feel free to use your favorite coffee beans.
To make espresso, you’ll need an espresso machine. However, if you don’t have one at home, another great option is a stovetop moka pot. I use this for most of my coffee recipes and it yields the most espresso like coffee.
Check out our guide to making espresso without an espresso machine (including how to use a moka pot!)
Oatmilk
I used Planet Oat oatmilk.
You could also use a barista blend oatmilk. Barista blends are specially formulated to froth just like regular milk. (I did find that my Planet Oat oatmilk frothed just fine, so I found the barista blend wasn’t necessary.)
Honey
I used Nature Nate’s 100% Pure Raw & Unfiltered California Honey.
It’s my favorite honey that’s made by California bees.
Toppings
I used brown sugar to top my oatmilk honey latte.
Starbucks tops their Oatmilk Honey latte with a toasted honey topping that’s sweet and savory.
When deciding what to top my latte with, I looked into the Starbucks ingredients list for the Toasted Honey Topping that they use. It includes [Sugars (Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Honey), Fruit And Vegetable Colors (Apple, Carrot, Hibiscus, Pumpkin), Natural Flavor, Corn Starch].
I just opted for brown sugar instead.
