To make a mint chocolate chip flavored cold brew coffee, we’ll mix chocolate sauce with cold brew coffee. Then we’ll make a mint flavored cold foam to top the cold brew and add some chocolate chips too.
I’ve also added an option to give it a little green tint naturally.
Mint Chocolate Chip Cold Brew Ingredients
- ½ cup cold brew coffee concentrate
- 1 tbsp chocolate sauce
- ¼ cup skim milk (or oat milk)
- 1 tsp mint syrup
- Chocolate chips
- Optional: Pinch of spirulina or green food color
Tips for Making a Mint Chocolate Chip Cold Brew
Cold Brew Coffee
To make cold brew coffee, you don’t need any fancy tools. As long as you have an empty jar, you can make cold brew coffee. Check out our guide for 3 easy ways to making cold brew coffee.
I prefer using a French press. Here’s how:
- Grind coffee beans coarsely and place in a French press.
- Add room temperature water. I use 1 cup of coffee beans to 3 cups of water.
- Place plunger on top of the French press but don’t press it down yet. Set aside for 12-15 hours.
- Press plunger down to filter the cold brew coffee.
- Pour into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator.
Chocolate Sauce
I used Torani Dark Chocolate Sauce.
The bottles are so convenient to squeeze different flavors into your coffee.
Milk
The best milk I’ve found that froths and holds on top of cold brew coffee is skim milk. However, if you’re looking for a dairy free version, oat milk works too.
To make the mint cold foam, you’ll need a milk frother. I recommend using an electric milk frother, like the Miroco Milk Frother.
But if you don’t have one at home, you can still make this right now!
Try shaking the milk vigorously in a mason jar until it foams. Or place in a blender and blend until the milk foams.
Mint Syrup
Use store bought Mint Syrup, or make your own!
Here’s how:
- Put water, granulated sugar and fresh mint leaves in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Place a lid on top and let the mint leaves steep in the syrup for about 20 minutes.
- Set aside to cool then store into a mason jar.
Chocolate Chips
I used mini chocolate chips.
Green Food Color
This is optional. If you want to add a little green color to the cold foam, use just a drop of green food color.
Or for a natural way to add green, use spirulina. I used just a tiny pinch of it to add the green.
How to Make Mint Chocolate Chip Cold Brew
