No matter where you go these days in Russia you will get good coffee during breakfast hours.
Izmailovo Gamma is one of the hotels in the mega hotel complex Izamailovo Alfa Beta Gamma and Delta hotels. These buildings were built for the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
The hotel offers VIP and regular buffet breakfast for guests. According to the hotel, VIP buffet breakfast is set in a cozy room with a smaller crowd. Here you will be served a variety of breakfast fish, French croissants and coffee, fresh fruits and chocolate fountain, champagne with strawberry, a huge assortment of cheeses and other dairy products, desserts, rolls and more.
Décor and ambience
Regular buffet breakfast is served between 6:30 AM and 11 AM. They alternate between two restaurants – Moscovsky Restaurant and Mikhail Svetlov. Both restaurants are just a like a huge banquet hall with table cloths and runners on each table.
The dining room was casual and crowded with tourists from all over the world. There were no assigned tables. We were free to sit wherever tables were available.
Coffee: Type, price and taste
A variety of fruits, bread, Asian cuisine, eggs, sausages, nuts, dried fruits, cakes were made available and were often replenished.
Self-served coffee machines with instructions in Russian with white porcelain cups and saucers are handy and easy to use. We had the choice of cappuccino and Americano.
How to get there
Izmailovo mega complex is located near Partizanskaya metro station serviced by the metro blue line. It takes about 20-30 minutes by train from the city center to Izmailovo.
Nearest tourist/fascinating attractions
The hotel is near Izmailovsky Market, the place to get the best souvenirs in Moscow at a fraction of the price in Moscow city center. The best time to get there is on weekends. The market stays open during the week with limited vendors and less selections of souvenirs.
