The end of the year always brings back holiday drinks at Starbucks. But if you can make it at home, you can enjoy your favorite holiday drink year round. Enter the latest holiday drink from Starbucks: Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte.
It’s inspired by holiday spritz cookies—buttery and sweet cookies which are usually topped with sprinkles. So it’s like drinking a sugar cookie. Another great thing about this drink? It’s non-dairy. The first non-dairy Starbucks holiday drink. The almondmilk completes the drink’s buttery cookie taste.
I attempted to replicate it at home and present you the recipe here.
P.S. Here is the recipe for Spritz Cookies from Starbucks that you can bake and enjoy alongside an Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte.
What’s in the iced sugar cookie almond milk latte?
The ingredients are almondmilk, brewed espresso, Sugar Cookie Flavored Syrup, and a Red and Green Sprinkle Topping.
We’ll start by making our own version of the sugar cookie syrup. Then we’ll brew espresso, top it with almondmilk, mix in the syrup, and give it its festive look with red and green pareil sprinkles—just like at Starbucks. Enjoy it both iced or hot.
Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte Ingredients
For the Sugar Cookie Flavored Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp butter extract
For the latte
- ½ cup espresso
- 1 cup almondmilk
- 2 tbsp sugar cookie syrup
- Ice
- Red and green pareil sprinkles
Tips for Making Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte
Sugar Cookie Flavored Syrup
Making the sugar cookie flavored syrup is as simple as dissolving sugar with water and mixing in a butter extract for a sugar cookie flavor. You can cut the recipe in half (½ cup instead of 1 cup of sugar and water) if you don’t plan on making this latte several times. If not, use the suggested 1 cup of each ingredient so you can score it in the refrigerator and use at any time.
While I suggested 2 tablespoons of the sugar cookie flavored syrup to mix in with your coffee, taste it and add more if you like your coffee sweeter.
Espresso
I used a moka pot to brew espresso. Feel free to use an espresso machine if you have one. Or even use regular brewed coffee using your favorite coffee beans. It’ll work just as well.
Almondmilk
While this latte does contain almondmilk, you can choose to use your favorite milk or milk alternative instead. In fact, apparently in Canada, you can get this drink with oatmilk. After trying this recipe with almondmilk, you can make the Canadian Iced Sugar Cookie Oat Latte version too.
Ice
Ice is optional. Starbucks also offers this latte hot, so you can do the same too if you prefer a hot coffee beverage instead.
Toppings
At Starbucks, their latte is topped with a sprinkle of red and green pareil sprinkles. You can leave this out or get creative and use other toppings like whipped cream.

Step 1
Make the sugar cookie flavored syrup by placing water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir and when the sugar is completely dissolved, turn off the heat and stir in butter extract.
Set this aside to cool before pouring it into a mason jar to store.
Step 2
Brew espresso. I chose a moka pot for a concentrated espresso-like coffee. But you can choose any coffee making method you prefer. It’ll work just as well.
Step 3
Mix the espresso, almondmilk, and sugar cookie flavored syrup together in a glass with ice.
Step 4
Top your Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte with red and green pareils or toppings of choice.
