The drink that gives us a smile each morning is also one of the culprits that might make us not want to show our teeth when we smile. Why? Coffee stains your teeth! The good news is we have an easy fix for you.
Coffee is not the only drink that stains teeth. In fact, tea is worst according to a WebMD article: Foods and Habits that Stain Your Teeth. Coffee contains tannins, chromogens and acids. Tannins are plant-based compounds that stick to teeth. Chromogens are compounds that cling to enamel and acids make the tooth enamel softer and rougher. Drinks like red wine, soft drinks and tea contain these compounds as well. Healthy fruits that are high in chromogens like blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries can stain teeth too.

Homemade teeth whitener:
Ingredients:

- 1 mashed strawberry
- 3 drops pure 100% therapeutic lemon oil (we use Young Living Essential Oils)
Directions:
- Mix baking soda and strawberries until it looks like a paste
- Add lemon oil to the mixture
- Put paste on your toothbrush and brush your teeth for 2 minutes
- Rinse mouth and brush teeth with normal your toothpaste
- Mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days
And of course, you can have your teeth whitened by a dentist. However, that doesn’t last forever and you may have to pay an arm and a leg for each session.

I used to drink coffee until I had my teeth whitening done and then I didn’t because I didn’t want it to stain my teeth. However, I hadn’t realized that tea was actually worse for your teeth and that is very good for me to know, because I still drink a lot of that. Maybe if I quit drinking tea, go back to coffee and stick with your three fixes, then I can avoid getting stains and still have coffee. However, which store-bought whitening paste would you say is the one that does the best when fighting against coffee?
