A cup of coffee is a staple in my diet, and I don’t begin the day without it. When I am at home, I usually opt for a hot cup of espresso or latte. But in the summer and on warmer days, all I crave for is a cold drink.
Iced coffee is the perfect drink for the summer and it can quickly be turned into a smoothie. It’s the perfect combination for lovers of coffee and smoothies. By combining a cup of coffee coffee with a smoothie, you can have the ultimate all-in-one breakfast!
Below, I’ll show you the recipe for making a coffee oatmeal smoothie to jumpstart your day. To make the coffee, I am going to brew it using a French press, but you can use any other brewing method, as long as you are using a strong brewed coffee.

What You’ll Need to Make a Coffee Oatmeal Smoothie
The Tools
- French press (we’re fans of Bodum’s French presses)
- Kettle
- Blender
- Mason jar (or tall glass)
The Ingredients
- 25g ground coffee (The best coffee for French presses)
- 3oz milk
- 3 tablespoons rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
- 1 banana
- 25 oz water
- 8-10 ice cubes
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Bring water to a rolling boil.
Step 2
Prepare the coffee. Pour ground coffee into a French press, add the hot water and put the lid on. Let the timer run for 4 minutes.
Step 3
Press the plunger down when the timer goes off. Pour the coffee out and let it cool down.
Step 4
Pour oatmeal, flaxseeds and the banana into a blender cup.
Step 5
Add ice cubes and pour in the milk and brewed coffee.
Step 6
Place the blender cap and screw it tightly. Blend for 20 seconds or until smooth.
Step 7
Pour smoothie into a mason jar. Breakfast is ready!
