A beet latte is a pink coffee drink that isn’t just fun to look at. It tastes good (in my opinion.)
It does taste a bit like beets so you want to keep that in mind if you don’t like beets. However, the added spices like cinnamon and ginger make it less earthy. (Also try my Pink Velvet Latte, which includes beet powder but doesn’t taste anything like it.)
Whether you’re looking to make a Beet Latte for its health benefits, or just for the fun pink color, it’s so simple and easy to make in the mornings to start your day.
Pink Beet Latte Ingredients
- ¼ cup espresso
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp beet powder
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp honey
Tips for Making a Beet Latte
Espresso
I used a moka pot to brew coffee.
To make espresso, you need an espresso machine. However, I recommend using a moka pot, which brews an espresso like coffee that’s really concentrated.
If you don’t have either of these tools at home, check out our guide to making espresso without an espresso machine to help.
Milk
I used almond milk but feel free to use your favorite milk or milk alternative.
We’ll be frothing the milk, so if you want a plant based alternative that froths well just like regular milk, try a Barista Blend, like Califia Farms Barista Blend Almondmilk.
Beet Powder
I used Ancestral Roots Organic Beet Powder, which I found on Amazon. You can also just beet juice.
Sweetener
I used honey, but maple syrup will work just as well. Or if you prefer no sugar, just omit honey.
I also topped my beet latte with some cocoa powder, which tasted really good when drinking the first few sips. Seems like chocolate and beets go well. I’d even try mixing in some cocoa powder into the beet latte next time.
