Most of us have purchased at least a French Press, cold drip or pour over coffee maker at some point in the past year. To make the coffee brewing experience more complete, some of us have even gone as far as getting a scale with a timer!
The result? Four instruments that take up lots of counter space yet not enough usage to justify the purchases.
But what if there was one instrument that could do more?
One that works as a pour over, immersion, and cold drip coffee maker. One that is smart enough to let you know the amount of coffee and water to add. And when your coffee will have the optimum brew.
Introducing GINA, a smart, all-in-one coffee instrument that combines three classic brewing methods with the latest technology. It connects with the GINA app that also functions as a scale and timer. So you get a multifunctional instrument.
We had the opportunity to see GINA at work for brewing coffee using the pour over and cold brew techniques. For the pour over method, first, Anze Miklavec, CEO of GOAT STORY and creator of GINA, placed a paper filter inside the ceramic funnel. He added ground coffee, set the GINA app to work on his phone and began the first pour for 10 seconds.
We waited briefly. When the GINA app showed 30 seconds, Anze continued on the second pour. While he poured the hot water, the GINA app continued her job of measuring the water and timing the brew. After one and a half minutes Anze opened the copper valve and let the coffee flow through to the borosilicate glass pitcher.
The user-friendly GINA app measures the precise amount of water and coffee grounds, taking all the guess work out.
Could this be the coffee gear of the year?
Anze said:
If given proper guidance and phenomenal tools, every coffee enthusiast can become the master of their own brew. GINA is unlike any other coffee product on the market. We not only give coffee drinkers the ability to experiment with three different types of brewing with one device, it’s also interactive and enjoyable. GINA does it all with ease so everyone can create their perfect cup.
In fact, the GINA app allows experienced brewers to track their brewing data by saving “brewprints” and share or find tips from within the coffee community.
Stella Korosec, Chief Operations Officer of GOAT STORY added:
Users are guided by the app and technology, so no brew is too difficult. We want everyone to help raise the bar for at home craft coffee brewing, share how they do it and ultimately build a community of coffee lovers who are inspired by others.
GOAT STORY
GOAT STORY, a company headquartered in Slovenia is the creator of GINA. The company name was inspired by the goat story in Ethiopia. GOAT STORY was introduced to us by way of their horn-shaped coffee mug – a Kickstarter success story. Now GINA is their second Kickstarter campaign. GINA is available for preorder at an early bird price of $145 through their new Kickstarter campaign.

Wow, we didn’t realise this was the same company that made the GOAT STORY mug! It is great that they are using their success to continue making excellent high quality products, and GINA really goes above and beyond expectations, 3 brew methods and working as a smart device, you really couldn’t want for a better coffee instrument. Perfect for people who want to try more brew methods but lack the know-how. 145 is a small price to pay indeed, I’m sure it’ll be a great success!
