Is Airline Coffee Getting Better?

Despite what most health experts say about the negative effects of drinking coffee when flying, we the coffee lovers, love to indulge in coffee when we fly. If you are like us, chances are you are dead tired by the time you arrive at your assigned seat. Either from lack of sleep or the hassle of going through security.

Coffee and airplanes are the perfect combination. However, airlines are known to serve bad coffee. It had been dreadful drinking coffee at 30,000 feet. Have you felt that way?

“Not anymore!” says Delta.

On our recent flights to Barbados and Puerto Rico with Delta, freshly brewed Starbucks Pike Place Roast coffee was served in a paper cup along with a cookie.

Airline coffee

Delta started serving Starbucks coffee in 2013 for select cross-country flights and West Coast Shuttle flights. On February 1, 2015, Delta served freshly brewed Starbucks coffee in all their flights worldwide.

That was good news for us since we try to fly Delta if we can for all domestic and international flights.
